Privacy Policy
1. Core principle: files never leave your device
Every tool on PDF Compress Station — compress, merge, split, organize, PDF to image and image to PDF — runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript libraries (pdf-lib, pdf.js, JSZip) loaded with the page. Your files are never uploaded to any server. We cannot see, store or access your file contents, because they never reach us.
2. No file-metadata reporting
This site has no interface that reports information about your files: we do not collect file names, file counts, file sizes, page counts, processing outcomes or durations. There is no “tool usage” tracking of that kind anywhere in the site, and no account system to attach it to.
3. No accounts
The toolbox requires no registration and keeps no user accounts, passwords, quotas or usage counters. Nothing about your documents is stored by us, during or after processing. Closing the browser tab releases the file data held in that tab’s memory.
4. Page-view statistics (the only statistics)
Like the previous version of this site, we use three third-party services that see ordinary page-view information (such as the page URL, your browser type and approximate region from IP address) — never your files:
- Umami (self-hosted by us at umami.jinzhai.icu) — privacy-oriented page-view analytics;
- Cloudflare Web Analytics — aggregate traffic statistics for the site;
- Google AdSense (publisher ca-pub-5777864556239380) — advertising. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors at aboutads.info.
No other analytics or tracking services are loaded, and no tool on this site adds any.
5. Cookies
The tools themselves need no cookies and set none for processing. Third-party cookies may be set by AdSense as described above; analytics by Umami and Cloudflare is cookie-light or cookieless. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings — the tools will keep working.
6. Data retention
There is nothing to retain: no files, no file metadata, no accounts. Our hosting keeps standard, short-lived server access logs (IP address, time, requested page) for security and troubleshooting, as described for the previous version of this site.
7. Your rights & contact
Because we hold no personal data about your documents or accounts, there is normally nothing to look up or delete. Questions about this policy are welcome via the Contact page.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date. The commitments in sections 1–3 — local processing, no file reporting, no accounts — are the product’s defining features, not marketing copy.
